FINANCE MANAGER (SGB) VACANCY


All-inclusive remuneration package.

Minimum requirements

  • Matric certificate;
  • A Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in the finance field, e.g. Financial Accounting, Financial Management will be an added advantage;
  • Five (5) years of working experience as a Finance Officer/Finance Manager in a school environment (compulsory);
  • Experience in D6 accounting system;
  • Experience in producing financial statements;
  • Clear credit and clear criminal record;
  • Excellent numerical and accounting skills.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage receipting of funds from parents and ensuring that they are properly allocated in the accounting system.
  • Manage supplier payments and ensuring that all procurement processes have been followed before payment is affected.
  • Perform month-end and year-end processes on D6.
  • Manage the exemption process by ensuring that proper controls are in place and only eligible parents get approved.
  • Manage the school debtors book and ensure optimum collection of school funds.
  • Ensure that the school asset register is up-to-date and all assets on the register are insured.
  • Manage the school inventory and introduce inventory management systems.
  • Enforce the implementation of the school finance policy.
  • Ensure that the procurement of goods and services is done within the confines of the existing finance policy.
  • Manage all payroll payments (Salaries, overtime, bonuses, SARS payment, provident fund.)
  • Produce Finance report to SGB (Debtors ageing, bank reconciliation, contract register etc.)
  • Co-ordinate and champion the budget process for the AGM.
  • Manage staff (Creditors Clerk and Debtors Clerk).
  • Prepare and assist in yearly Audits and Year End processes.
  • Manage SGB personnel contracts and human resources functions working closely with the HR Committee.

Minimum Requirements (qualifications and experience):

  • A four (4) year Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B Ed) or Diploma in Education with Computer Literacy and English Home Language as subjects, at least Level 2, or
  • A three (3) year Bachelor’s Degree, and a 1-year Post Graduate Diploma in Education.
  • At least one (1) year of teaching experience in English Home Language and CAT will be an advantage;
  • Knowledge of CAPS, planning, assessment, moderation, and intervention;
  • Involvement in extra- and co-curricular activities;
  • N.B. The successful applicant will be expected to teach both these subjects.

  • Grade 12 teaching experience in IsiZulu will be an advantage.
